Hi Everyone,
I've been digging around on the web for months and for all the info I have gathered, I make the following speculations:
1) LCD Imacs power by G4s
2) Low-end PowerMacs powered by Appollo G4s
3) High-end PowerMacs powered by G5s
If G5 can't make it to SF, it will have to be in Toyko
Any comment?

The G3 is a good processor, but if Apple wants to keep in the runnings with other manufacturers, they are going to have to either up the clock speed significantly on the G3 or start cranking the newer generation G4 & G5 processors out...
I wouldn't be surprised to not see much happen with the G3 unless it's in excess of 1 Ghz...
there's my 2 cents...

though the idea of a G5 sounds really nice-it's seemingly doubtful lately. i would expect apple only to release the lcd-imac
besides-we should all have learned from our mistakes and start shooting low on our expectations for what will come out, this way we'll avoid getting pissed at apple.

(this is Apple, we expect cool stuff from Apple, why should we lower our
expectations? we could just as easily take our loyalties elsewhere)
As I said in some thread elsewhere, a Tokyo G5 release is possible.
If Apple doesn't launch upgraded machines at SF, expect G5s at Tokyo.

Yeah. Too high of expectations. Apple users do this like Crack.
You guys, Apple can only move as fast as the economics and technology moves. I just dont see them having the 64 bit G5 ready.
I DO hope I'm wrong. It will be a glorious day if they do have them.
Im still betting on:
G3 LCD iMac
Apollo G4's 7460's. (1, 1.2, 1.6) Maybe a dual system
-And thats all. No new digital device.
Just a guess, but a very safe one. My second guess is that they release the new iMacs, and some G4 upgrades, but not the Apollo systems.
Again, I hope Im wrong. And if they call the 7460's G5's, Ill be pretty angry that they resorted to a marketing/naming convention to confuse the masses into thinking they have a "new" G5, when its nothing but a suped up G4.
