Because when you pay for quality, you have to pay that little bit extra for something that just works unlike a PC....or more specific a windows operated piece of junk...

There are plenty of "Quality" machines out there without a piece of fruit stuck on the front....
it baffles me, it really does!
edesigns reponse is a great example of how utterley devoted you are to a tech company. this does not happen with anything else in the world, why Apple.
And if i do get removed its because people cant argue there point in a fair discusion

there is a diffirence between windows and quality.
some choose windows, some choose quality, it's just what you think is best for you.
EDIT: maybe you shouldn't try this in an MAC BASED FORUM (hint)

Here's a question Bimblebambo....do you own a ipod? iphone or anything apple related?
dyn

Macs are the cheapest UNIX machines out there. When looking at UNIX laptops I believe they are the only one out there. Sun has UNIX workstations about the price of the Mac Pro, they don't really go lower than that.
Macs are also the easiest to use UNIX machines out there, they have UNIX but with a proper GUI that make life more pleasant. Because of this a lot of people do not run to the alternative: a pc with Linux (something like SUSE or Ubuntu). The hardware support is slightly better on a Mac because mostly Windows and Mac are supported.
I bought a Mac mini because of that plus it is small, energy efficient and really quiet. I never ever have experienced computers being that quiet unless they were laptops. Same goes for iMacs, they are really quiet as well. But then again this is to be expected as both the Mac mini and the iMac use laptop hardware.

There would be no point going on another forum with this arguement as i would not get a proper answer..
Lame insults instead of educated responses arent welcome either. If you cant give an honest answer to my genuine question, why bother even getting involved.
Alot of people share my bemusment at certain Apple fans obsession, i would just like to understand why?

Please. Don't pretend that you give a damn as to why, as if anyone could ever really answer that anyway. If you want to feel superior and point fingers at something that you find stupid at least be honest about it. Don't act so surprised by the responses given the limited "questions" you've asked. Not to mention HOW you've asked.

This is the reason why i posted this subject, one person has attempted to give a constructive answer why the rest are behaving as if i've personaly insulted your mother.
If you take a step back and look at the wider picture.... We are talking about a Company.
And you may hit the roof when i say this, your not doing much to change my (and many others) views that people are un-healthy obsessed....

Where did anyone here sign up to convince you of anything? You take a step back and look at how you have approached this. Are you really so shocked by the reception you're being given? I should think not.
I am often bemused by the devoted apple fanboyism myself but I'm certainly not going to dish that up for you.

Because I can afford one and don't like Windows. I use both platforms at work and have nothing but problems with Windows. I waste precious time figuring out what is wrong and how to fix said problem. Many times, even exchanging files with other Windows users, there are problems. An example of this; I burned a DVD on a Windows machine that consisted of Windows versions of Pagemaker and InDesign files. After the burn I doubled checked to see if I could read them on a PC and Mac. No problems, it mounted, all files were there and randomly opened both kinds. I then sent it to the person who requested the files. She emailed me stating that they were corrupt and unrepairable :( . I immediately wrote back stating what I did and suggested trying another Windows unit or Mac because there is nothing wrong with them. That is just one example of the BS I have to put up with.
I don't care about cost, I care about function and using my time productively. In the end the true cost is less for Mac ownership. I'm sick of reading threads like this from Windows users who are the true brainwashed ones.
Ever since I saw the famous 1984 Apple commercial, I have never once been interested in DOS/Windows. It is an antiquated system that needs major work both under the hood and the GUI.

Im not going to insult you, BUT do you really think Steve Jobs Cares....
I think he is a very VERY clever business man, who has used the enviorment at the time to sell his products.... with out going into great detail. I think i could sell a product very well if i put a Enviroment Spin on it.
Not to say that its not helping what he's doing, but he certainly is not doing it for mother nature...
But again, my questtion was to understand why certain Apple users are so obsessed, i would like to "get it"
Thanks

Dane D,
Just playing devil advocate, why would windows create a system that is inferour to an Apple OS. With the money and team i assume Windows have, they would be aware of these sorts of problems.
That suggests that they are ignoring them.... Which at the momemt i cant really believe.
Has anybody ever done a scientific test with the two OS side by side?

If we or anyone else could answer that question, every company in the world would implement it. The true reason is intangible.

There could be some ways to compare these two systems, but in the end it are two total different OS's which are ment for different purposes.
Why did people chose Obama and not Hillary?
Exactly, Hillary used Windows computers.
This way, she wasn't able to open her manager's Keynote presentations, which they forgot to export to .ppt
and THATS why we love apple.
not because of the being-diffirent thing

Whether you actually intended to come across as a quasi-troll, you really did. It sounded like you merely wanted to stir up some crap. I see that now you may want to talk more about it but you got this thread off to a bad start. That's all I'm really getting at with the idea of closing this thread and starting a new one off on the right foot.
You won't get many actual answers to this question because there aren't any hard and fast answers. People have their preferences and their loyalties, no matter how misplaced they may be sometimes. Asking people to justify themselves to you, especially when you don't seem keen on anything but mocking it, will seldom go over pleasantly. But hey, good luck.

brainwashed? nope sorry
when i pay money for something i expect it to work, such is the same for most people,
when that something stops working, i'll spend my money on something that works, Mac works for me, when microsoft wouldnt, ( and yes it was a microsoft problem, not the hardware ) if they cant get there software working as it should, people are obviously gonna be annoyed over it, and they too might ditch the windows camp for Apple
LOL at the troll comments,
maybe your next thread will be more interesting then this ;)
