View Full Version : Welcome the 10000 member to MacRumors

Wow, due to the craziness of the past few weeks, MacRumors has exploded with new members - first, only members could access the forums during MWNY - but a couple of days ago the server got hit with 1112 users and Arn made all the forums members only. So we've had over 4000 new members in the last 2 weeks! And today we welcome the 10000 member to MacRumors - crobin (http://www.macrumors.com/forums/member.php3?action=getinfo&userid=10000)

No doubt they have no idea, so be nice if you pm him/her.

And I must say "Way to go Arn!":D

man this site blew up like crazy

congrads arn for the best mac site out there,
but it was really us who made the forums , all of us

Wow... That's crazy, but you can really see why Arn needs that xServe (or two) :D

Ha, it is totally crazy - yesterday it was 10000 - this morning its 11000 - another 1000 in one day - when will the madness end!

yep less than a couple weeks ago we were in the 6000 range - we've almost doubled - and I imagine in a few days we will.

Who'd a thought?:D

that's true - we should have a poll to see who can guess at what membership count things start getting back to normal - it might not slow down for a while.

Even so there hasnt been less then 100 users in the forums that I've seen in the last 4 days...:confused: Even when all these people were lurking there were not 100 users regularly browsing the forums.


So it is still saying something about how good the site is. I wonder why the explosion in brwsing prior to the members only rule occurred??? Who knows....
