It's starting to feel like the only reason I got a mac in the first place was to feel special.

Help me guys, I'm sure a ton of you know what I'm going through.

*troll stank in here*

But seriously, I bought my mac because it works how I think it should, and it does what I want it to do, and does it well.

Why don't you like it? I bought a Mac because I got sick of Windows and Macs just work

I smell troll here too...

but...in the rare case it isn't a troll....

I bought mine because the windows operating system simply can't handle the tasks I throw at it. I cannot trust windows when doing the following at the same time:

Backing up large amounts of data
Repairing raid mirrors
video encoding
compiling code
running maya, zbrush, photoshop, and unity3d at the same time
batching in lightroom
burning dvds

Thats just the major things I do on a computer in one session. Windows OS can't handle that kind of tasking even with a high end machine. It just crashes or freezes. I'm a windows technician and have been for many years so I definitely know my way inside and out of windows.

Mac OS on the other hand handles it all in stride. Seeing my friend on a mac use pretty much the same stuff as I do above at once without so much as a hiccup from the system first turned me on to the idea of mac.

Windows Vistas inability to copy large amounts of data (pre service pack one) sealed the deal. The day my eeePC transferred data faster then my $7k workstation computer as well as my new laptop was the day I made my switch.

And Windows 7 has nothing to make me even think of going back.

@ the OP: You should sell it... to me... for $5.00.

I'm sure yours is better than mine... :D

Sell it now. Spend the money on some therapy and try and work out why you thought buying a certain computer would make you special somehow. Also, try and find out why you can't weigh up the benefits of OSX, the deficiencies of Windows, and make a judgement based on this for your future computing needs.

Insert "Troll Spray" JPEG here.

Anyway, there will always be those who jump on a trend for the "status symbol" aspect, without fully considering the decision. The OP, if there is any truth to the post, may finally be realizing this now.

A Mac computer is, after all, a (well-designed) tool. If that tool doesn't really fit your needs, OP, then get one that does.

@ OP: Better yet, just stick some random object in your eye and call it a day.....:D
