Good deals on notebooks!

Can anyone help me find either a 14" ibook or a 12" powerbook around 1000$(give or take a little). Since the ram can be upgraded later, for now 256mb would be good.. that way it doesnt eat up the money I want to spend now. 1GHtz is a MUST! I wish I could find a 15" powerbook for the price im looking for.... ok thanks guys.... just post some links for me. :)

Duff-Man says...a really quick check didn't come up with much...this 933mhz 14" ibook (http://www.powermax.com/cgi-global/generate_css_temp.cgi?i=PM_CR_IK) for $999 is pretty close to what you want....there is always ebay if you want to take that chance...or keep your eye on the refurbs at Apple's online store - stuff there changes frequently.....I will post again if I stumble onto anything else....oh yeah!

Try some of the big online Mac retailers. Small Dog (http://www.smalldog.com) Usually has a lot of good deals on refurbished 'books. PowerMax (http://www.powermax.com) they often have a lot of refurbs too.

You're asking a little too much-- you'll get neither of those at that price; not yet. The apple store has refurbed 12" G4 ibooks for $949, though-- you should jump on one of those. On this page. want to buy my 12" PB? it's not 1 GHz, but 867 MHz. i'll sell it for $1000. it includes a crucial 512 MB RAM and Airport Extreme card.

i'll also throw in panther and iLife - discs included, of course.

You can also get a PB refurb at Apple (867, I think) for about $1099, when they have them. Also check your Best Buy store, they might have the iBook on closeout.
