No need to get so upset. Most users just prefer a more mature and consistent icon set.

Customisation is very dangerous...

Its fantastic when done properly but is HORRIBLE when in the wrong hands....

Just because he says it's a pointless thread (To him, by the way) makes it completely useless to everybody else?

Everybody is entitled to their own opinion, and apparently yours is that you like customizing your icon set.

Me? I'm not a fan of customizing, I like the "boring" look.
