Ut 2003 For Mac?

Hey folks,

Anybody hear any news as to the immenent release of UT 2003 for Mac platforms?

How long does it usually take for a PC-only release to make it to Macintosh?

well its safe to say when it comes out on PC it wont be out on the mac.

They're developing it in d3d so if a company is contracted to port it over it'll take some time to switch it to opengl.

so Im guessing 9-12 months at minimum, but I do think it will be ported.

Nah, Westlake still have a few untitled projects that they are porting.

One of them could be Ut2k3.

I'm guessing that it should be around for the Mac in December/January.

By the way,

What is OpenGL? What does it stand for? Is it a Mac-only graphichs application?

I'm just curious because I was sent an opengl file to upgrade my ut files with but it was a .dll extension and my opengl files are .ini extensions.

long story short, I couldn't find an application to open the file (my experience in finding apps to open files is fetal at best).

opengl is a 3d graphics library? Im not sure how to explain it since Im no programmer.

.dll is a windows thing I believe for drivers and what not.

the .ini files in UT are just configuration files for UT.

UT2003 is supposedly being ported, but from what I've seen of UT on Jaguar, it may be a while after UT2003 and Jaguar are out before it's all working.

OpenGL is a 3D graphics library pioneered by Silicon Graphics, Inc. You use it by putting together data in a program and calling the appropriate function with the appropriate data.
