Should I call the police or Apple?
Some tips should you confront the 27" iMac:
• don't look him in his yellow eyes
• if he seems to flicker or shiver, stay away
• be careful - there's a chance he's armed with a loud HD
This is not meant to belittle those with problems, only to lighten the mood. :)
If there is something wrong with anything you have just bought from Apple,
return it for a refund. Simple as that. Wait for them to iron out any issues they
have with whatever it is you just paid good money for.

The title being being a reference to all the negative talk about the 27" and
what could be the worst possible NEXT thing it could do... eh, either you get
the joke or not.

Heh... fellow FG fan here too.
Was actually thinking along those lines but thought the thread would get pulled. :)
Was also thinking about going the Chuck Norris route...
27" iMac doesn't sleep. He waits.
27" iMac is the reason why Waldo is hiding.
27" iMac counted to infinity - twice.
27" iMac can lead a horse to water AND make it drink.
27" iMac doesn’t wear a watch, HE decides what time it is in the menu.
27" iMac can slam a revolving door.
27" iMac does not get frostbite... 27" iMac bites frost.
etc, etc, etc...
@ the goldenmackid - because I hadn't seen a thread that dealt with rogue
27" iMacs stealing cars and wives and then becoming fugitives.

I understand sarcasm well. This is just a poor implementation of it.

Love the post :)
And yes, there are soooo many posts about the same problems all declaring the same "end of the world, Apple is the spawn of Satan, Death to OS X, Steve Jobs is n00b" issues with the late 2009 iMac's it is getting a bit thin (and yeah, I am ignoring the posts, but it's a bit hard to not see them when looking through the thread index).
Simple solution to the problems - return for repairs, or return for refunds.

So what you meant to say was
Simple solution to the problems - return for repairs, or return for refunds & tell no one what happened or how you feel.
It seems I've misunderstood what discussion forums are for

Nice post made my sides hurt (simple things) I agree that people have every right to post about their iMac issues, I have done so myself but dear god cheer up, these forums have such an atmosphere of hate at times. Post something and 100 people are ready to knock you for every little thing.
I asked a question about my Magic Mouse and the first reply I got was from some chap who has an OCD for grammar. I couldn't care less what the definition of stationary means as it didn't contribute anything useful to my post, he understood my problem and was just being a moron for the sake of being a moron.
Message to macrumors forum posters - lighten up and relax.

Bunch of wannabe mods in here. Stop making light of people who have iMacs with problems. If you spent upwards of $2000 on a faulty piece of machinery, I bet you'd want to vent too. This is what forums are for.

What part of my post did you not understand? I had issues with my iMac also, I was simply stating that many many posters on here feel the need to be negative on every single post.

Ya know, if you really want to weed out the useless threads, how about doing something about the myriad of "ZoMGs Appel wtf - glossy screenz" threads and "is anyone's screens not yellow" threads? This is a humor thread, and should be separate so as not to clutter those with useful information up making it more difficult for people to read through them, and encouraging them to make more idiotic and redundant posts like I've just mentioned?

I went to sleep last night and everything was fine, another peaceful night in Phoenix. When I woke up, my W7 Laptop was wrecked, the flat panel TV in my office was destroyed, and someone had eaten my cat.
Suspiciously, the only thing in the room that had moved from where it was last night was a very guilty looking 27" iMac trying to hide a mess of cat hair it had 'somehow collected.'
I keep a closer eye on my 27" now.

I wonder what the average age of this forums users are. All everyone does is argue
People who don't have 27's: "ooo, I'm not buying one, it will break, what should I do?"
People who do have one: "I see yellow?" & "It's going back!"
People who use windows: "27 Imacs are deffinately the worst computer ever made, windows/PC FTW"
People who have got over this issue: "Shh people"
Feel free to expand on those stereotypes, I will just sit and be amused.
