Using a Pismo to Test a 23" HD Cinema Display?

Just recently got a 23" Cinema Display, and I ordered (for $7.49) a DVI-I Female to Dsub15 (VGA) Male converter in order to test the display. I've had a G5 ordered since 6/22 and I want to make sure this LCD isn't a lemon.

I know I only have enough VRAM for 1920x1200@16bits but will the Display be able to interpret the analog signal from the Pismo?
