Does your MacBook's fan engage after you pass gas?

I'm often lying in bed with my MacBook on my lap. When I have bad gas -- the kind that bring to fruition long expulsions that smell like chopped onions -- my MacBook's fan will engage for about a good 35. Any similar experiences?
