iPod Ship Date?

I recently ordered the slim 10GB iPod (from the Apple Store education section), does anyone know when they might start shipping? Thanks,

Mine should go out around August the 5th or so is what I have been hearing. I cannot wait to get the thing in.

Well I called up Apple and they said "2-3 weeks" :( I find this particularly frustrating because some folks on the MacWorld forums already have their iPods that they purchased from their local Apple Store, and I, who ordered my iPod the day of MacWorld might not receive it before I head off to school (three weeks). What a way to do business! :mad: Anyway, should I cancel my order and just purchase one at the Tampa Apple Store, or wait a bit longer and hope the girl I spoke with was wrong?:confused: :(
