In the new iMac video if you watch closely the word "pocket" is spelt wrong.

its only there for a split second, but its still there.

attached is a photo of the spelling error.

That's pretty entertaining. I wonder if they'll ever correct it?

Wow, now we have started a new rumor in the Community Discussion thread. Any thoughts are welcome.

A mistake like that is hard to imagine when Mac OS X has a built in Spell Checker. Although, they are human. There are times that I forget to run Spell Checker. I forgive them. ;)

You are good! Tell them. May be you will get an iPod Mini. I would give one if I were running the show there.

where would i report this problem?

i'm sure they don't have a video mistake feedback.....

You could send Steve an email at:

stevejobs@hotmail.com

Or you might want to try:

http://www.apple.com/contact/feedback.html

I'm not sure if you will be able to include a screen cap though. Nonetheless, you are a man of details.

If they don't know, they can't correct it and it makes them look like idiots. After all the nitpicking concerning other vendors, do you think Apple would stand up to serious scrutiny with mistakes like that? ;)

Er, yeah... I'm sure Steve Jobs would use a Hotmail account.

Yeah... I can't seem to get the email address to post without the link. I hope some other guy named Steve Jobs (probably living in Gary, IN) doesn't wake up tomorrow with his inbox innundated. Oh well...

lol well i sent respond through the feedback. it says they can't personally respond to feedback... so we'll just have to wait and see....

I always thougt Steve's email was steve@mac.com.

Another spelling mistake can be found in last week's Discovery Download. The spelling error is still on iTMS, and for anyone that downloaded the song, the mistake is also in the album tag on your computer. The album is supposed to be "Riot in an Empty Street," but Apple has it spelled "Steet." If you downloaded the song, you might want to correct the spelling in iTunes.

steve@mac.com is the demo one that he uses when showing .Mac onscreen. sjobs@apple.com is his corporate-assigned account, which is monitored by Corporate Relations. I should imagine he has a separate account for actually working... what with the tendancy of people like us to email him :)

Nice work, Phat_Pat. Let's give you the credit. You reported it and it was fixed in 2 hours. I think they owe you that iPod Mini now!

uh, i just saw it in the medium sized video. You have to pause it every few frames otherwise you'll miss it. So for those of you who think its fixed, you just go to fast to catch it. I really dont see how this first guy caught it. Did you analyze the entire video frame by frame? Do you normally do this?!?

Check this: http://next.z80.org/forum2/viewtopic.php?t=230

Someone over there showing a reply he got from sjobs@apple.com. It kinda looks credible and the reaction sounds like one you can expect.
It could just as well be a hoax though.

I should send Steve a GMail Invite. I can tell him in the email how much more beneficial it is to have 1 gb of email space rather than 15 mb like .mac. He should thank me immensely.

Don't panic

Some idiot on the Konfabulator forums supposedly sent a flaming e-mail to Jobs. Jobs actually replied with a snippy-attitude response at the accusation of stealing stuff from Konfabulator.* :D

*Assuming the e-mail and headers weren't forged by the above mentioned idiot.

Geez! How did you see that?? Maybe Phat_Pat doesn't deserve an iPod mini just yet ;) :D

As to that link about Steve Jobs personally replying to that guy, do you really think he'd say something like "Not going to happen. Sorry" in some email?

I must add my 2 cents about the Steve Mail.

I would think its very rare for any CEO of any medium to large size company to respond directly to an email like that.

Sadly, lawsuits and such. Anything from Steve in any official capacity must go thru corporate handlers. In the event that Steve does feel the need to reply, I am sure it would be via postal letter. This is far more secure than email, and again, creates a better record for all parties involved.

Apple is a well known company and Steve is a bit of a celebrity in the industry. I am sure his two 'known' emails get hundreds of emails a day, plus a generous wealth of Spam. So, staffers aside, the odds of any actual email being important enough to filter to him for review is low. Next, you must take the fact he runs 2 major companies. That takes time. I am sure he is busy enough with internal emails, and meetings to take all his time.

In a normal company, I would venture a guess to say that some corporate staffer could send replies with Steve's name. But those replies posted do not look 'official' nor do I think Steve would allow this 'authority' to be handed over.

So, in my opinion, they are hoaxes.

There is nothing weird about being a details-man. I commend you on your discovery and the fact that you let them know about it.

In regards to Jobs having a hotmail account, it was a feeble attempt at humor that nobody seemed to pick up on. But it's been a rough week here. I leave for Colorado in 7 days. I'll be spending almost 2 weeks above treeline amongst the rock, ice and marmots.

Is a bill gates dot mac address available?

In the apparent email from Steve Jobs, look at the x-headers. What is Apple Mail (2.618) ? I'm on Panther 10.3.5 and About Mail says: 1.3.9 (v619)

Any insights?

Yes, sjobs@apple.com is his corporate account and is monitored. Generally an underling answers for him.

And yes, he does have a private e-mail where you can reach him.

...and it isn't a hotmail account.

It is indeed sjobs@apple.com.

I know of someone who switched to the Mac and wrote a glowing letter to Steve saying how great the Mac was. He got a reply from Steve and some goodies from Apple as a result (e.g. free Keynote).

i highly doubt steve answers them
but i did email him a few times and the replies i got from him were funny.

first off he's right handed, second of all hes enthused to find out that there are young apple fanatics out there :p
then i told him i thought he was god (lol), so then he said something along the lines of god commands you to study what you want to study, and to take it easy with your boyfriend rofl.
dammit, i need to find those emails.
