This is the countdown thread where I'll paste the images apple posts on its website everyday. I think this will be fun when the collection is complete and we know what we got. So here we go:

Has anybody tried using WebGrabber?

It's available from Apple's dowload site at: http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/internet_utilities/webgrabber.html

This web utility allows you to synchronize, copy, mirror or download websites.

What can you use WebGrabber for?
— You can use it to download entire web sites and even spider off of there.
— You can download an entire directory of images without being able to “see it” (i.e. no ftp access).
— You can use it for ftp downloads, it’ll even split downloads across sessions and resume downloads.
— All sorts of neat stuff.

So, I'm wondering if anybody is resourceful enough to snag some more gifs from here:

http://www.apple.com/home/images/12/

I tried, but wasn't successful. But it was my first time insalling and using the program. Maybe somebody else is more savvy. I think that the images actually reside on another computer at akamai.net.

Any insights?

If anyone is interested, I've got a copy of the full frontpage of apple.com for the last few days on my website. I missed the first day, so I just have the gif for that, but the rest are the whole page.

http://www.brian-web.com/mwsf02/

I just used wget to grab the whole page. With the right options it will take all the files (even the ones on akamai), put them all in one directory, and fix the urls in the page.

I missed some of those days... glad you posted them on your site. I passed your URL to some Mac Head friends of mine so they could see them too.

Hey they are making referance to star trek and I thought those trekies where crazy....
Maybe its an Apple star ship, it would be revolutionary and blow us away, and be a deffinate back stage pass to the future, and no pc has ever been to deep space before...
(this is a joke... I wouldnt expect an apple star ship till at least MWNY)

I really believe your dream is going to come true, my analsys tells me we will see G3, G4 and G5 there is no doubt about it. It's really common sense g3 in ibooks and lower model iMacs G4 in High model iMacs and lower model Towers and G5 in the Top End Towers. Get your money ready, I have mine.

I don't know how to post pics, but the http://www.apple.com/home/ has the updated images placed (though they don't show up, they're in the html). Here's hoping for extra goodies in the keynote

Long live the iLuxo, Jr.!

This thread was worth it after all. All the emotion, all the excitement, all the underwhelmed feelings.
