I wanted to know what type of ram does it use and where is a good place to purchase it? I bought the newest model and it should arrive one day this week and wanted to buy some extra ram to put in it.

I like crucial.com for getting RAM. I have to buy for our computers computers at work as well as my own and it seems pretty cheap. Pretty nice interface too.

If you're buying online, just look for Flatpanel iMac RAM or something liek that, and if you're going to go to a store, just ask. Simple as that.

You haven't said what iMac, Flatpanal G4 or CRT G3?
If it is the G4 then from looking at the iMac specs (http://www.apple.com/imac/specs.html) on the Apple web site it looks like it takes standard 100Mhz 168-Pin SDRAM.
For a full listing of all Apple memory check this (http://www.crucial.com/store/listmodel.asp?cat=RAM&mfr=Apple&productline=iMAC) out. One last thing...enjoy your new iMac! :D

Do NOT buy memory from Apple, as it is well overpriced. Check out

For the best damn deals you can find on a large quantity of Apple memory.
Well, considering you want an iMac, and appreciate Apple's products more, are you going to change your name to ThinkpadsReek?
