what's your budget for next machine?

if i don't get another ibook (for $1199 US), i need a new pc for my business and i will stay well under a grand so i will probably get a 1.2 ghz celeron or duron machine since that's all i need for my purposes

My parents and I are strapped for cash (I'm sure you've read the story many times) so if we get anything else we wouldn't want to spend more than $1500 or $2000. I'm not that greedy for a new computer or even a more powerful computer.

I'll probably drop 6k - get the top of the line max it out as much as possible, two video cards and 3 17" (maybe 19" if they have them) LCD Monitors.

I say this now - reality might requre only 2 monitors for a start - but I'll still be dropping some cash - but I will be buying this next year, with a G5 or Power4, what ever is the next CPU, I probably won't by a G4 unless its a quad.

Took the words right out of my mouth.

But I'm hoping $5k will cover it...we'll see.

I spent about $3500 on my TiBook...I figure when it comes time for me to either replace or get another I'll end up spending $4-5K...

I don't think I want to go over $2,500 for the PowerMacs. But I've been seriously considering getting an iBook, too, which I probably wouldn't want to go over $1,500 on that. So that... $4,000... Hm, I can't afford this right now! Damn!
