Ahh, the CTR isn't over yet! :D

For this one, which Equalizer setting do you like best? If you create a custom one, could you post a pic?

When I want to maximize the sound quality (not volume) for metal/rock I use a special setting. Check it out. Try it out.

BTW, Aztec, I'm glad you decided to take notice in my threads as well as my Pops. :p

Either 'Rock' or 'Jazz'.......

I don't really have the ears or the time to perfect my own custom settings......

I keep it on Jazz....I like the sound best...

but if I'm using my cheap headfones...I have to turn down the bass a little or else it sounds distorted... ;)

I leave it flat. These are good headphones. These are expensive headphones. I trust them to reproduce the music the way it was meant to sound.

As an experience audio engineer I use it flat, the iTunes EQ is very cheap, it sounds metallic.

For those who are not in to audio stuff there are several ways to program a digital EQ software.

Some times some softwares take the frequency out from the original signal, increase it or decrease it and then add it again, this can couse some fase cancelation. There are several algorithms to EQ something, the more complex and loyals take some memory and processor.

Never expect to get the same quality from a iTunes EQ than a ProTools EQ wich uses a special PCI card with 4 custom processors just for that matter.

Any way, I do not touch it. Now, the stereo enhancer is good for most of the songs.

I like the rock equallizer, even though I find it gives less bass than wanted.

no equalizer - I turn up the bass on the sub woofer on the Bose Acoustimas speakers, it works better, especially if you're only listening to 128 kbps, the distortion becomes too much.

Do a test, up all the values and see what happens - it won't sound that good, when it really should only increase the volume.
