A little disappointing, but maybe this will push up the official release date of the game.

I'm sort of surprised I haven't seen it on suprnova, or the like. :confused: Wonder if this will turn out like Doom 3 did.

They're also really lucky the "scene" is being good about it... like xbconnect not supporting it until launch time.

As for the comments above, it got pulled from suprnova (supposively by MS), and it's a DVD9, but less than a 3 gig download.

The really bad thing about the early release is that players are going to start getting good at the game before it even comes out.

^ Microsoft cant "pull" anything off of suprnova, its based overseas. If they could just simply "pull" things off of it, there would be no Microsoft Products on that site, but there are, and tons of them too. I'm sure Suprnova pulled it themselves, same thing they did for the Half Life 2 Beta.

And its weird how its a DVD9, yet its only a 2.8GB download. I guess they really got it compressed for it to open up over 5GB's out of 2.8

Have you played the Halo 2 multiplayer, or are you just basing that off of your experience playing Halo 1 multiplayer? I think that it could be quite fun having a Spartan/Covenant multiplayer action with intelligent re-spawning covenant. I just can't wait to see a warthog full of elites! :D :eek:

So his "friend" has a modded xbox, the right encoder for burning the dvd ( with xbox games, you can't just burn the files to a disk.), and he just happens to say it's alright. I will say it better than the last one. We where playing on 3 xboxs in teams of 2. There are a lot of new guns. A convent sniper rifle, 2 convent guns I have no clue what to call them. All of the oringal guns but the assult rifle are there (Assult riffle was replaced by smg)

The battle rifle is really one of the best guns in the game. We never could figure out how to use the beam sword with all of it trick. It does have a 1 hit kill. You can play as convent in Mplayer. lol, I never said PAL was a bad thing, I was mentioning it because it wont work in America without a modded Xbox, so right that thats a huge chunk of people that it wont work for.

Also, not everyone has fast DSL/Cable connections, so downloading it is not an option, and 3GB's to download is a lot to some people

Also, sure PAL has "richer colors", but what you gain in resolution, you loose in frame rate ;)

I don't know what part of the game timeless blur is playing anyway. I don't remember every playing a 'multiplier' in Halo 1, so maybe Halo 2 has some over hyped 'multiplier' function within the game. What I would really like to know about it the multiplayer section of Halo 2, and whether it's better than Halo 1's multiplayer.

This whole PAL thing doesn't even matter, since it's the Xbox's software that renders the game in NTSC and PAL, not the game, and it's a non-issue if you Xbox is modded.

As I said you can choose to believe me or not. it no loose on my part. Btw Blood gultch had a massive revamp to it. Ghost have a booster on them. Banshis are slow as hell. Rocket launchers can lock on to vechicals.

As far as I can tell you all refuse to believe anyone has played the game yet. Lets see I am on a collage campus that has a lot of xbox on it. A hall where we play a lot of Mplayer games so it spreads pretty fast. I only played one game before I choose to go to bed last night so I did not check out all the others. The rest of the gusy in the hall continued to play it.

I am also going to follow Bungiees request not to state anything about the single player campain. I am sorry that I dont have access to a digicam to take a pic of it.

To answer you question yes it is better. Even in just the slayer game I played it was better due to the fact that there is more statigie involved in it and it not just a sniper heaven any more. I am told that the other games types they have are pretty sweet. I know I still heard them yelling about it when I woke up at 3:30 and they played until 4am and loved it.

with a modded xbox you don't need to burn it to a dvd, you just ftp it from your computer's harddrive to the xbox harddrive and play the game straight from there.

and the labels and studios don't send them out on their own. They use the MPAA or the RIAA and a go-between because they have better lawyers and are more geared towards this stuff.

I found 3 different torrents for Halo 2 about 5 minutes ago, and the first one i clicked on gave me 20 seeds within 60 seconds. It's out there. Get over it.

I don't even have an X-Box, I just looked around to see if it was really there. it is. My torrent has been cancelled and deleted, and no, if you don't know how to find it yourself, I won't point you in the right direction. :)

I had to pay for school and books and food and dorm and gas, and it took multiple scholarships and two or more simultaneous jobs. I didn't have a spare cent to give towards entertainment. I didn't even really go "out" until my 4th year of college because i couldn't afford to get into clubs.

So i sat in my room and watched free movies and played free music.

and now I buy it. and i don't feel the slightest bit of regret for my actions before. I happen to work in the music industry now, and I see these major label studio guys with pirated copies of $5,000 recording/editing programs and hear them tell me how downloaders are killing the music industry.

Not in every situation. Imagine if every person they were able to find pirating movies they prosecuted. Imagine the legal fees, legislation, and sheer chaos that would ensue for EVERY pirate ever caught out there. Issuing a warning is a hell of a lot easier to defer a COLLEGE student than prosecuting the hell out of him. Think before you post such nonsensical dribble. If you've been in the situation, or had a close friend that was, then talk, but don't make blanket assumptions based upon the RIAA and MPAA lawsuits that were merely examples made of idiots who weren't smart enough to not get caught.

Since when did this become a thread about the hardships of your own financial situations? I don't remember seeing a headline saying, "Tell me how much you pirated when you were in college." Well, you can do what I do. Start speaking in a foreign language. I recently picked up a political call and when they asked if there was someone to talk to >18. PAL XBoxes (the Australian one at least) and most modern TVs have support for PAL60 which gives you exactly the same frame rate as NTSC, but the Australian XBox still sucks with no support for Component/HDTV output.

I'm currently on 256 too, $68.95 from Telstra. There are rumours that they'll offer a free upgrade to 2 Mb soon, and yesterday they changed their site to say that new plans are coming on Monday. I can't wait to see what happens :D

If you have Halo 2 on your Xbox or computer as we speak, GET RID OF IT YOU ARSE!!! I mean if you downloaded it off the internet it just shows how low of a person you are. I'm sorry, but we've all been waiting for this game for so long and if someone messes it up cause they were too eager and they push it back another year, I'll try and get a copy of Halo 2, find someone to embed a virus into it and have everything of yours infected. Could you explain why the release copy of a game leaking would lead to postponement? That's a great idea, moving it a year back so that anyone who really wants it would pirate it.

Bungie wants everything to be a surprise, and if people already have it then they would remake the game to fit a certain degree of actually surprising people with it.

Xbox is an x86 based system, so, all you would really have to do is infect it in the way its part of reading CDROMs or actually just playing games. Program something to where when it hits a certain item it just shuts off or something.

If people have this game already, I think they should be shot or fined up to if not more than $500,000 ... no make it more

I gave up definding my self. It not like I care to much. I could tell you the ending if you would like but that would be ruining the game for a lot of people. Just I will say the ending blows and there pretty much has to be a Halo 3 now

if some one had read my post earily you would of noticed I dont own a Xbox. I never downloaded the game personally but remeber I live in a dorm full of mod Xboxes that does have the game
