OK, we here on the east side have exactly 1 hour and 5 minutes untill midnight (according to apple's network time server), how many different thoughts/rumors about the new Powermacs can be crammed into 1 hour? I'm leaving it up to you all. Hey eye, do you think apple's going to release the iWalk tomorrow morning?:D

ON the low-end we have everything from dual 867s to dual 1.2s on the high everything from dual 1.25s to dual 1.6s. We have pc2100 (266) and pc2700 (333). We have 1 dual procesor (its late and im spelling processor wrong) 2 dual processors, and duals across the board. We have 1.4s at the high end and 1.5s. We have in excess of 1.2 (maybe 1.3?) We have bluetooth. We have hypertransport. We have usb 2.0 and firewire 2. We have new mice and keyboards with bluetooth? with 2 button mice? with scroll wheels? We have ati 9000s and 9700s. We have tis standard. We have 17, 19, 22 and 23 inch monitors with price drops.Widescreens across the board now. We have new imacs up to 1ghz. We have superdrive emacs. We have new tis with ddr and clock speeds of up to 1ghz.

But most importantly we have tens of thousands of anxious mac-users waiting for the arrival of a new powermac

Dual 1.6s are SO not gonna happen... I would say i would buy you all one if they announced them its so unlikely.. but i couldnt afford it incase i was wrong =P. The ABSOLUTE highest it should go to is dual 1.4, but dual 1.25 sounds more reasonable to me. I am expecting standard 512mb of DDR 266 on the higher models, i dont think we will see DDR333 but it is ofcourse a possibility. I think the Radeon 9000 will likely be the default graphics card, and the 9700 will more than likely be an upgrade option. I doubt we will see new superdrives in this wave, but that too is possible. Gigawire is an almost impossibility however. It is also very unlikely that all 3 models will be dual processor.

for those who look around, spymac said that through the search function you could find some dirt, and it actually worked! it sayd powermacs are 1699, emacs are 999 and powerbooks are 2199, but imacs are the same.

I use macs at my university. I'm waiting for the best time to buy a pb...one that has 1 GHz and DDR...

I like macs, pure and simple. I own a 4 year old PC...haven't bought a comp in a while. The pb will be a worthwhile investment.

I dunno about pc rumor sites...never had a rumor that i wanted to happen. Things change in an reasonable fashion, sorta. No ground-breaking PCs out there. Also there's a variety to choose from.

As for apple, they only have a couple lines of pcs. And they come up with innovative things...more noticible and speculative...

I'm on an old(er) PC now. And I hate it.

Slow, crashes all the time. BSOD. Did all sorts of stuff to try to fix it. At least it didn't make it worse. Hand built a buncha PCs, sold or gave away most of them. I was gonna upgrade what I have, now I think I'll just get a better MoBo and CPU (still gotta keep a PC around for some stuff). Maybe AMD. I'm thinking of getting Win2000. WinXP SUX. My parents have it on their new Sony.

No Linux. No way. Nice OS, but, well... kind of a hassle sometimes. The Windows emulation doesn't always work, and I have these crappy PCs for compatibility (and the cheap hardware). Otherwise I'd just use VPC. And no, I don't play games.

I had several Macs too, but I haven't really spent too much on computer parts lately unless I had to. Just gave my Performa 6400 to my Mom (she's a teacher, she gonna use it at school or something with her PB G3). My stepfather likes the Sony. Whatever.

I was gonna get an iBook and/or a new Tower (if they're ever updated) for an audio/video project I was doing, but I lost funding. The economy, c'est la vie. Now I gotta get my crappy car fixed, and I'm moving too. So my saving are going to other things. Haven't done any web sites lately either.

Now I'm depressed. :(

Unless Apple comes out with GHz+, 120 GB, 64 MB TV-Out VC, DDR, etc. tower tomorrow for $999, I'll be waiting. I might get an eMac when I get settled in Tacoma, WA. Or a new iBook (1 GHZ, 60 GB, 32 MB VC, 512 MB Ram... wishful thinking). Or something used or refurb from Powermax. I love OS X. Esp. Jag-wire.

I still wanted a couple of those 200 GB Western Digital Hard Drives when they come out.

I didn't need to eat this month. ;)

Ummm...I'm puzzled. Why do you guys think something is going to happen at midnight? When did Apple ever issue a press release at midnight? If there is an announcement about new PowerMacs on the 13th (which is highly likely) it will probably be released around 8 or 9 AM (PST), as usual.

i did not know that. i did accidently squirt ketchup on the my 190cs powerbook's lcd back many many years ago. I know have a dual Ghz...so no worries about spilling water, cuz it's hidden under the desk :D

The radeon 9000 kinda sucks... its like GF4 MX equivalent... The Radeon 9700 is the best of the bunch though
