Apple Stores Receiving New PowerMacs Today

I just called the Apple Store in Glendale and they said that they would be getting new PowerMacs today. They don't know when they will be displaying them but it may very well be today. They said to call them back at around 1 or 2 PM to find out.

If they've got 'em I'm gonna go see 'em! :D

I'll try out the machine and post speed differences, OS installed (should be Jaguar), etc.

Btw, when I asked if the new G4 was faster than my Athlon XP 1700+ the guy couldn't give me an answer.

I should bloody well hope it is! the 1700 is no where near AMD's top speed CPU so I would hope/expect the new (and VERY expensive) dual 1.25Ghz would and should kick it's a$$!

tell us what build the final version of jaguar is.. like to confirm.. :D

I hope so. I think I'll be comparing the speed of my 1700+ to the Dual 867 PowerMac, since that one is closer to both the clock speed of the AMD and what I paid for my PC.

Maybe I should bring my PC and we'll have a Photoshop bake-off :D

Update: Apple Store Glendale says that although they have to new PowerMacs in stock, they will not be on display until tommorow.

Oh well. I guess I'll have to wait till then.

Columbus OH Apple Store is reporting they hope to have them available for sale tomorrow.
