I'll cut straight to the point. Migrating to or gaining work permission in another country is difficult. There is a large international contingent on these boards, many of whom are probably at least slightly interested in living abroad at least temporarily.
Wherever you're from, list some major organizations, whether they are corporations or non-profit, or charitable organizations.
I've finished up my last projects, I'll have a bachelors degree in 3 weeks, and I've been intensifying my search for jobs abroad (I'd rather do it now, than later, when I'll be more qualified, but have a more difficult time leaving the US). I'm mostly looking in english speaking countries. If you've ever tried to go abroad, you know that standards are tight. If you can find an organization that needs your skills, it is definitely possible though. Internet job sites in the vein of monster are poor tools for recent graduates though, but excellent job programs for grads can be found on organizational websites.
So far, I've found that Virgin, BP, Red Cross, Amnesty International, and a lot of other organizations have good graduate hiring programs, and will get British work visas for new hires. In the same manner, the Bank of Scotland, the Bank of England and a lot of other organizations have good programs but specify that they will not hire foreign nationals.
My request is this: Wherever you live, please list some major organizations, interesting organizations, organizations that you think would be able to get work visas for foreign nationals or organizations that you like. This may seem obvious, but if you're not familiar with Britain, for instance, you might not know that the Manchester Guardian is a major publication, or that in the US Arby's is a major fast food chain or something mundane like that.
I'm well aware of British, Irish, Australian and New Zealand Immigration standards, so if you have any questions on those feel free to post them here.
I'll try and start out by listing some major organizations with operations in the US, since that's my realm of living.
The Obvious: Microsoft
Apple
Sun Trust
American Express
Visa
Coca Cola
Best Buy
Target
SBC
AT&T
Viacom
Enterprise Rent A Car
Delta
US Air
UPS
Fed Ex
Red Cross
American Cancer Society
American Heart Association
I'm a bit absent minded right now, but you get the idea. Post whatever you want, but I definitely think posting where you're from and some major organizations that operate there and can get work visas would be helpful.
