I know some of us have PCs also and have played Half-Life 2. I thought it was interesting that Valve is already actively banning accounts. And not just a few, a TON!

The short summary is that apparently a certain cd key was used by, well, 20,000 accounts and they are in the process of banning them. The long version is in the following link:

That's nothing, you should see the account-banning action that constantly goes on on Battle.net with Diablo II - insanity, tens of thousands a pop. Still, 20,000 people on the same CD-key, LOL!

Do that many people still play Diablo II? I loaded it back up a few months ago and hated the graphics. I know gameplay > graphics, but I couldn't look at it any longer :)

the issue here is in their interesting application of antipiracy measures...

The most common pirate is the least-common-denominator variety (n00b pirate or n00b hacker), and Steam seems to be catching most of those.
