My friends MacBook was stolen on 28-Apr-09 night at Hongkie Kopitiam @ E-Gate (Penang, Malaysia).
Part No. MB061ZP/A and Serial No. W8730S60YA2
Please help keep an eye on this to help him get back his lovely MacBook.

You should call Apple and let them know, as well as local authorities.

Ring apple and get them to record that serial number as stolen.

Yeah not sure we'd be able to do anything about a Macbook stolen in Malaysia...
Makes me wonder: computers dont have locaters on them like cell phones do?

Even if AppleCare notes it as stolen, they're not obligated to notify anybody. AppleCare supports the computer not the customer.

When my iBook was stolen I notified Apple and was called three months later and they even gave me the phone number the person called from. At that point I didn't really care because insurance had already replaced it, and there was no way to know if this person was the one who had stolen it or just someone who had bought it from the thief. Not sure if Apple still does that, though. It has been almost 10 years.
