I got my macbook four days ago and the battery seems to be dieing pretty fast. I have three other friends who have the white macbook and said that their laptops die pretty fast too, but I just want to make sure. :)

It went down 50% in two hours. . .bluetooth off, airport on. the screen was super dim-i use the one right after it turns black. i also had safari and itunes on. it normal to go down that quickly?

Make sure you calibrate it. That will help prolong the life on it.

It all depends on the type of pages you were browsing in Safari. If it was anything somewhat intensive (youtube, graphics, games, pics) then the battery goes down significantly.
If not, you might have a small problem. You could calibrate it once again just to make sure, and then keep an eye on it to see how it progresses. You can always try taking it back if you're really not satisfied and try a different one.

No, there's nothing wrong. You're complaining about four hours of battery life with two somewhat intensive apps open?

As I said elsewhere, I don't know why everything Apple has to be special to some people and claim ~6 hour runtimes. Heck, I can't quite even get 6 hours on the 17-inch MBP in typical, power-saving use.

With the slightly undersized battery for the class of notebook, any claims much over 4 hours with wifi on with minimum display brightness is complete testicles for actual, real-life portable use.

Down to 50% whilst playing music sounds fine to me.

Based on System Profiler, your battery seems to be fine and you battery per charge is based on what you're doing on your MacBook. It isn't surprising that the more applications you're running in the background, the shorter the battery life.

Yeah, once again like others have stated your running two "larger" basic applications more or less especial if you have a handful of tabs going in Safari etc.
