I wondered who bought Vauxhall Novas. :D I thought they were all former Ford Cortina owners.

They've aged quite well. It looks priceless. (I can't imagine anyone giving him any price!) :D

I've been pondering some 18" Chrome spinners on my echo for quite some time. You've talked me out of it!

:p :p :p my dad had 2 Ford Cortina's back in 1980-'81 as company cars. The first one was a 1.6L in a Navy Blue, and then the second one was a 2.0L GL in a slightly strange Orange colour...

Luckily Ford released the Sierra not long after, and we upgraded to a 2.0L GL in Silver. Fastest car in our street at the time... heheheh :D

I thought Nova's were bought by women who'd had enough of their Renault 5's continously breaking down, but didn't want to have a Ford Fiesta 'cos they were too common. heheheh

Silly stuff

the really scary thing is that some 17 year olds here actually DO this type of stuff to their cars (Nova's, Fiesta's etc) thinking that it's 'Wikid', and generally it's just as tacky, '16v' or 'Turbo' stickers on blatantly 1.0L base models, the current thing here is the 'chicken wire' grills, and those nasty little LED's that people put on the washer jets so that they illuminate! :p

Go to any McDonalds Drive-Thru on a Sunday evening, and you'll see them 'hangin' in the car parks.... :p :p :p

scary...

Back in High School ('82) there was a kid who had an old beater and took white tape to the inside of his hatch back spelling out in big 2' high letters
" T U R B O"

I remember thinking it quite funny then - and in the early 80s you didn't see that many turbos to begin with.

But I have to agree that the mods to that car are a little much - and I don't think he'll be picking up the girls in that either  :D

hahaha... that's great. I also thought it was funny that he wrote turbo all over it. I usually don't laugh out loud at stuff I read online, but this I did...
