itunes interupting playing when launching app

Hi,

It is driving me crazy. itunes interupts the track playing when launching some apps!!! It never used to do that, just started a few weeks ago. I tried everything from cleaning my files, defrag the directories using DW and the files using TTP4 but no improvement.

I am on a Powerbook 17' 1.33Ghz, 80Go (4200rpm), 1Go SDRAM and the HD has only like 30Go used. I have about 500,000 files on it and yes the daily/weekly/monthly maintenance script are run on a time when the powerbook is on... Running 10.3.3

Any ideas here? Anybody else having a similar issue.
