This may give Apple a shot in the arm......

The latest notebook chip from Intel will come out May 10, according to sources, along with price cuts and a new naming scheme.

It will come with 2MB of cache, a pool of memory near the processor and run at 2GHz, according to sources.

Wow, that is really nice. Say what you want about Intel but they are working very hard at making good mobile chips.
Too bad OS X doesn't run on it :p

On the right laptop you might be able to use Darwin...but bear in mind that we are talking higher-end PC laptops; last I checked, the top of Dell's line (Inspiron XPS) is so expensive that you can get a comparable PowerBook and have enough money for an iMac, or a Dell Dimension 8300 if you need Windows.
