Hi all,

Really weird question!

I was just offered 500 records and 400 singles for free and am about to go and pick them up, however I am pretty clueless as to how much space they will take up, and most importantly, don't have a car.

I am wondering therefore how much of a difficult time my mate and i will have getting them into a cab (would we need to hire a 7 seater cab?), and then how much space they will take up when back at my place!

Could anyone give me an idea?

Cheers

You know those supermarket boxes that apples and oranges come in? 500 vinyl LPs (albums) would take approximately 8-10 of those boxes. And be very heavy too, so make sure you get sturdy boxes with good bottoms in good condition.
Good luck!

they'll take quite some space.
i doubt a cab, even a minivan one will cut it, if there are three people (you, friend and driver)
can't you hire a small moving van?
are the records already in boxes?

hey guys, thanks for the replies.

Well here it all is, turns out it looks a lot less than it actually is. Here there are about 500 records, about 400 singles and some old 78's.

We got a taxi (an estate car one!) in the end, and let me tell you he was quite shocked when we started loading up (picked them up with a mate).

Haven't had time to go through it all yet, but im sure there will be at least a few gems hidden somewhere!

And for your viewing pleasure...
