Well, if you didn't already know, today is Cinco de Mayo. I wanted to know how many of you will be celebrating it.
I'll be going out to my local mexican restaurant to hang out tonight. I'll be eating plenty of chips and salsa and drinking lots of dos equis and tequila.

I was looking for a reason to drink tonight.:p We don't go out drinking. The town is too small and the church people talk. Too bad we're not out of town with the folks. I guess our celebration will have to wait until next weekend.
Have fun and take pictures!

...and take pictures!
I don't know about that. Of course, it would be funny to take pictures of me when I get to work tomorrow morning!

I have an exam tonight, so maybe I'll celebrate a little afterwards.
I do have one tradition:
I always listen to Bob Dylan's song "Isis" on the 5th day of May.

I guess there's just 2 of us that celebrate it. I don't go all out or anything, it's just an excuse to drink. Oh well... I just thought there would be more.

You may get more of a response after school/work is over for the day.

Mexican Independence Day is actually September 16.
Cinco de Mayo is the celebration of the Mexican Army defeating the French at the Battle of Puebla.
As for myself, since I am 1/2 Mexican, and Mexican food is definitely my favorite, I do believe I will have tacos and beer tonight for dinner :D

Well it's another quarantine night for me, there aren't any open bars I think :(. Oddly enough, Cinco de Mayo is not as widely celebrated here in the north of Mexico as it is on LA (for example). Over here you only get a day off at work and there are a few parades. Other than that it's not much of a holiday.
September 16th does involve some heavy drinking though ;)

I'm a Smexican too..... I got to catch the 3rd period of the Wings/Ducks game. I can't believe it, but I think the Ducks are gonna pull an upset.
I didn't end up celebrating either..... I finished my exam, and then I came home dropped on the couch and watched the end of the game. I did have some Nutella on an english muffin though.......

I live in a college town and it's dead week for exams so no party here. Next week though, as everyone's leaving... BOOM! week long party!

So, I had a really good time with my Dos Equis. When I got home late last night, I had the craving for chocolate chip cookies... so I made 6 of them and ate them while watching Entourage. Good times.

Traveling again. The best I could do was a margarita or two and nachos at the Miami Airport served by a gringo in a sombrello.
