Hey all,
I'm pondering the purchase of a new unibody 2.0GHz MacBook. I'm currently using a black 2.16GHz MacBook. I recently purchased a 500GB hard drive and installed it in my black MacBook. Would the same hard drive work in a new 2.0GHz MacBook? Thanks all!

Does anyone know the definition of my screen name :)

Yes. It will work on the newer unibody Macbooks. They use the same 2.5" SATA hard drive.

The hard-drive will physically work, but in terms of OS install, you'll have to install updates to get support for the 9400M chipset of the newer macbooks.
I think you could do "archive and install" with the Leopard Setup DVDs that come with the new Unibody MB and be good to go.

Yea it will work but you wont be able to just but that 500gb drive into the unimacbook you will have to do a TM backup then install the drive and do a TM
Restore to the new drive

Thanks guys. I have three separate copies of my hard drive. When I insert my new hard drive, I'll restore my Mac with the restore DVDs and then add my info via time machine. I'll be sure to post any questions if anything comes up.
Thanks all,
Habitus
