2G iphone on 1.1.4 updating to 2.2.1 help

I'm running 1.1.4 on my 2G unlocked, JB'd iphone and wanted to update to the newest software version. Do I need to do this thru itunes first before jailbreaking again with pwnage? Or can I just go thru the JB process with the new 2.2.1 software straight away? Pls help...not sure which way to go 🙂

Oh and ps... if I do have to update with itunes first, what happens to all my games, texts and so on? Will they disappear? I've done a sync with everything as it stands right now so now what?

Update to 2.2.1 in iTunes and then download and run quickpwn. It is very simple from there.
 
I was very hesitant to do exactly what you are wanting to do. I discovered "Flight Control" and HAD to do the upgrade to load it up. Take a deep breath and do it! I am now an App junky.
