Just wandering if anyone knew the answer to this
why does apple say there 480p trailers are HD on the trailers site?
I know some people call 480p EDTV.

Because "HD" sounds better than "ED."

Isn't 480 still just SD, though?

Isn't 480 still just SD, though?By the average computer user's standards, yes.
But, if you're going to the world of analog TVs, then 480i is SD, while true 480p is a definite step up from it, though not true HD. If you don't think it's a significant difference, compare the Wii's 480i composite video output to its 480p component on an HDTV--it's a marked difference (even, in fact, on some old GameCube games that support progressive output, like Mario Kart DD). Call it "near HD" if you want.
You could approach it from the opposite direction and say that average internet video is 240x320 or maybe 360x480 at best; if it's 480x640 or better, it's at least HD in comparison.
So it's a little disingenuous, but not completely ridiculous. Regardless, it looks much better than YouTube, so there's nothing to get worked up about.
