Hi there...

i recently got a 160 GIG Apple TV...

I was trying to load movies on it..that are not yet in my itunes....

is there an easier way to load movies on it...

maybe using the usb plug in...or the ethernet outlet...

not sure what to do...new to apple tv....

You can sync over the wireless or Ethernet. I'm pretty sure the manual explains how to do both.

thanks...

see the issue is i have all the movies in a folder on my desktop....

and not in tunes....

i was wondering if there was a way to just load them in there....

with out putting them in itunes first?

Yes and no. The ATV syncs/streams with your iTunes library, so if you are using a stock ATV (not hacked) you need to add content to your iTunes library. However, those items need not be located in your iTunes Music folder - they can be on an external drive, for example, or on your desktop. Drag them into iTunes while holding the option key and it will add an entry for each item in your library without actually copying the files to the iTunes Music folder. Alternately, you can go into iTunes prefs and, under advanced, uncheck the "copy to iTunes library" box.

They don't have to be in your iTunes library folder, but they do have to be iTunes accessible format (not avi)
