i plugged my iphone into my itunes and hit restore setting and now the only screen that comes up is itunes with a usb cable and can only slide for emergency calls and says my sim card wont work with it anymore! help!!

you have to unlock and activate it to use it. There is a sticky in the iphone hacks forum on how to do this.

What is the color of the background of the iTunes/USB cable screen?

Black or Purple?
