Is there any big differences between them. Which is better for listening Rock/Metal music

Companion 5s require a certain shaped room and positioning for the surround sound to be effective and sound good. From what you said it sounds like you will mostly be listening to music so the 3s seem like the better choice for you.

Yea, the 3's are sweet. I'm going to pick them up soon. I recently sold my USB sound sticks and the 3's are what I plan to get. They sound sweet.
