10.5.7 arrived, 2 threads got locked, and you can add comments in the front page thread here (http://www.macrumors.com/2009/05/12/apple-releases-the-mac-osx-10-5-7-update/)

It is being worked on. This is where we'd put a technical difficulties screen.

No you can't THAT is thread I was talking about and its gone...

The front page at the moment links to thread no. 700339 (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=700339) which the vBulletins forums system says has "No Thread specified".

Whoopsie.

I'd just read the first page of comments, and clicked on the second page, and BAM, tis gone.

Gone, gone, forevermore gone.

All these comments about Safari being teh snappier have blown away into the yawning gap of Ginanngu, swirling dustily with the Powerbook G5 announcements.

We are the poorer for it.

We have posted a replacement thread for continued discussion:Apple Releases Mac OS X 10.5.7 and Safari Updates The previous thread may or may not be recoverable; we don't know yet.

Along with all the comments on "the update is XXX MB on my system," "what's the difference between the combo update and the regular update," and "I got an error downloading the update; what do I do?"

The previous thread appears not to be recoverable, after an unlikely combination of events, mixed with human error, as we managed the thread in realtime. Our apologizes.

If you made comments in the lost portion of the thread about the Mac OS X 10.5.7 release, and you consider them important for other users to read (let's exclude comments on filesizes or the progress of your installation), you are welcome to repeat your comments in the replacement thread.

Oh dear... though I'm by no means a vBulletin expert or even a forum administration expert, I've heard about these kinds of things happening. Hey, at least the problem's resolved in a way that's acceptable, right? :D
