Hello all!

I have a MacBook 13,4" (late'08). It's so amazing! But I have a problem:

When I connect the MacBook to a router with a cable, it doesn't get an IP from the DHCP-server. When I set the correct IP manually, it doesn't work either. The connection seems to be up, but when I try to ping the router, it says:
macbook-van-guido:~ Guido$ ping 192.168.1.1
PING 192.168.1.1 (192.168.1.1): 56 data bytes
ping: sendto: Host is down
ping: sendto: Host is down
ping: sendto: Host is down
ping: sendto: Host is down
^C
--- 192.168.1.1 ping statistics ---
4 packets transmitted, 0 packets received, 100% packet loss

When I connect using Airport, it works fine.

The router is OK, when I connect from another (non-mac) laptop using LAN, it works fine. I allready tried another router, other cables... But with no success.

I Googled for hours and still can't find the solution. Could someone help me please?

Thanks so much!! :D

Try turning on and off the router while plugged in the mac?
