For my needs: Canon D50 or Nikon D90?

I need a digital SLR for shooting horses in motion and some tropical beach landscape shots. I'm a still kind of a beginner even though I used to own one of the first Canon Rebel XLRs. I did not like it because it felt to plastiky.

I don't use flash.
I don't own any lenses of either brand.
I am probably going to go with a 18-200mm lens


Which one would you recommend me?

Both the 50D and the D90 are great cameras. The D90 has a video mode, whilst the 50D shoots at a slightly higher frame rate (plus a few other slight differences). Both have access to a 18-200 lens, probably best to try both of these great cameras out as you may hate the feel and handling of one recommended here.
