Couldn't find it in the FAQ guide, I noticed some people are branded as a "Demi-God (Moderator emeritus)" (eg: mad jew).

What does this mean?

I'm guessing it's a honorary title given to a former moderator.

An ex moderator. It's listed in the FAQ (http://guides.macrumors.com/Help:MacRumors_FAQ#How_do_user_titles_work.3F).

Someone who used to be a Moderator, was successful, but now has retired from their duties.

I'm assuming this brings up a definition of the word, but I do this and it does nothing.

ah nuts, I'm not special any more :p

It just means that we were mods, but that we have now "retired" from modding duties, rather than being fired  :p

We get to keep our slightly larger avatar, have the different title, but we no longer have access or privilege to any modding tools.

So you mean both edisgnuk and madjew are no longer tied up doing trivial moderation tasks and are now free to spend all of their free time in the forums!

edesignuk why did you not want to be a moderator any more?

Can you imagine not being able to ignore annoying members or excluding pointless areas of the forum, being hassled all the time "why did you wasteland my thread?" etc?

I'd begin to hate this place too...

What moderators do in their private time.... You can make emoticons white-texted?

Unlike the President of the United States, no pension and sadly no moderatorial library.... :(

I see that both eyelikeheart and bousozuko are not longer listed on the member list.

I miss bousozoku being around these parts. Enjoyed seeing him return for one day during the Olympic torch carry.

Seriously! There was a time when I would have liked to have helped out but honestly I think being a mod would take every bit of enjoyment I get from this place right away. The only cool thing about it is the bigger avatar anyway, the rest sounds like a pain in the ass. So I have to appreciate what they all do for this site, perhaps at the cost of their sanity. :p

edesignuk why did you not want to be a moderator any more?Simply, I'd just had enough.

I really like MR and was thoroughly chuffed when I got asked to be a mod. I enjoyed my couple of years helping out, but eventually tired of it.

So back to just hanging out causing trouble for me :D

Doctor Q said there was pie... I haven't seen it yet but he just keeps saying that I come too late and it's already eaten!

Maybe I can get a piece tomorrow.

That's because with Q, pies mean charts. Or maybe he meant π (Pi)

edit: oh snap, bartelby!

I did! :o

It shows in both for me but I think it looks better in the quote because it italicizes it.
