View Full Version : Yet another Jailbreaking help topic!

Greetings -

I've purchased a used iPhone. It did not come with a SIM card. I charged it & turned it on. I get the message NO SIM CARD INSTALLED & I also get EMERGENCY CALL message.

I then downloaded Pwnage & followed the steps here:

I get to the "Successfully Entered DFU Mode" step & I close the Pwnage program & launch iTunes but iTunes does not detect the phone. Any thoughts? Is there a step that Im missing?

have already open then put it in dfu mode and it should recognize it.

Here's some good news. I've managed to jailbreak the phone! Im quite happy! I used Quickpwn instead of Pwnagetool & I also used a USB hub per iClarified's instructions. Now all I need to do is unlock it & I'll be a happy man.

So I jailbroke the phone but I still cant downgrade my baseband to 2.28. The bootloader version I have is 5.9. I followed the tutorial from iClarified to the last detail but still nothing. Any ideas?

You need 5.8 bootloader to be able to downgrade:
