Im buying the new 12 inch PB superdrive this coming week. I was going to upgrade to 512 through apple for $100, but now i think im going to order a 512 chip from Crucial for $125. My questions are, if i put in the new memory does that somehow put my waranty in jepoardy and also is there a walkthrough on how to put in new memory for the new PBs, how difficult is it?
thx

You are better off ordering the memory from a vendor and installing it your self. Simple procedure. The manual that is included with your powerbook will have instructions on how to do this. Also noted in the manual is the correct size screwdriver you'll need to remove the plate on the bottom side of the laptop. I believe it was a #00 phillips.
I don't believe it will void your warranty. Not 100% though.
