asp.net Newbie web design

Hi newbie without a clue here: Next semester I will be starting an asp.net course. Except for using BootCamp is there any way that I could follow this course using OSX and my mbp? Or am I stuck with Windows?

In short, you're stuck with Windows. There's projects that emulate .NET on linux (Mono), but for doing what you're going to be doing which is heavily dependent on Visual Studio I'm sure you'll have to either Boot Camp or run a virtual machine for Windows.

Yes I've programmed in it, and yes I think it sucks :) I wish you luck though.

You could try VMware Fusion.
