This looked like the best place to post this.

I have two computers in my home, a 20" iMac with Leopard and a Desktop Dell with XP. There is an usb printer connected to the Dell, but its upstairs. The computers are connected through an ethernet cable. I was wondering if there was a way to print archives from the iMac to the usb printer.

What i have been doing is either sharing the files and inserting them to a shared folder on windows xp or sending them to myself via email. I find both processes extremely annoying and boring, and would rather instead just directly send a command to the printer.

Good source of info - your Mac's Help menu (top of Finder). Search for "printer share."
