I am just wondering... When do you think the MacBook Air will get with the program and adopt the multitouch clickable glass trackpad and the black trim?

The MBA currently has the multitouch glass trackpad, however it isn't clickable. This is likely because there isn't enough room for the full clickable trackpad.

Hopefully it never gets the black trim. That's one program I don't wanna be part of.
IF they released a completely black anodized model I would purchase that - but i don't want a two-tone MBA.

The MBA does not have a glass trackpad, it's the same one as the older Macbook Pros however it does incorporate the multi-touch gestures and much larger size.
@ the OP, get with the program? I surely don't want the Air to get that ugly overly reflective glass that's on the the Macbooks and the Pros. That was one of the reasons I bought the Air because it didn't have that crappy, glassy black trim.

It is definitely not glass.
Although it is big and nice. I really prefer the glass. At first, I felt that it was a gimmick and not worthy and didn't like the whole trackpad as button. Now, I think it's amazing. It is the only advantage I see with the MB I am currently using, well and the RAM.
Hopefully the next revision of the MBA gets all of the goodies and more power.
A bunch of us are hopeful for an MBA update shortly before or after WWDC sometime in June. Have been discussing thoroughly in another thread.

I am looking at the update cycle and the latest Apple notebooks came out in October of 2008. Updates are due fairly soon...
When are the next generation of components due? I would think that this would give us an idea of when to expect an update...
I am also thinking that they would have to update it before all of the college students go off to school. I mean i know they do not HAVE to but I think they WILL.
Thoughts?

I'm one of those who can't wait for the aesthetic revision the original poster writes of: black bezel and buttonless trackpad. I think it looks pleasant. That's just me, though.

Agreed. The old style just looks out of place.

The black keyboard makes it two-tone.

when you said program, I thought you meant more ram, a faster chip and a cheaper price!
That's the program I'd like to see...

Apple wouldn't make the MacBook Air have the glass and glossy screen because, if they did, there wouldn't be a 13" notebook with a non-glass screen, which is bad for some people.
However, glass trackpad will probably make it in Rev. C !!!
