Have one for my car, and has been *very* useful. Whatever the journey, or charge phone when in pseuudo satnav mod in google maps...

might not be as small, but 97¢ is A LOT less than $29.99. I have bought two of these from Monoprice, and both have worked great for several years, available in black and white:

I think you can buy the Palm charger and just use the iPod cable (instead of the Palm cable). It is one very expensive USB car charger though...
