Right Click Not Working

So I have a problem, ever since this morning every time I use the CTRL key + the click button it does not respond with a right-click menu, just does a regular click response.
Is there any way of fixing this? I have no idea how this problem occurred.
Thanks in advanced.

Have you tried setting the trackpad up to two-finger-right-click? Does that still work?

Hm... the two-finger-right-click option seems to work but I find that the problem seems to underlie with the control button.
As in... whenever I try to multiply select files with the control key, etc. it doesn't work. Is this just a keyboard problem then?

Selecting multiple items/files is done with the Command key, not the Control key.
