Although I've been using a Mac for nearly 20 years, I'm brand new to the digital music world and am just getting into iTunes and am about to get an iPod.
I would like to know what you think are the best import settings are for importing music into iTunes, which can then be played on an iPod.
So far I have been using the default setting of MP3 High (160 kbps) without VBR, and am satisfied, but I'd like to know if there's a better balance between sound quality and compression (although sound quality it slightly more important to me than compression).
What is the advantage (if any) to using MP3 when I hear that better compression now exists?
Oh, and the main tyes of music I will be compressing are rock, electronic and classical.
Thanks! :)
