Hi, you all seemed like the people to go to with tech questions, and I'll appreciate any insight you can give me as regards an incredibly unfortunate problem:

My lovely cat recently decided to walk around my desk while I was at work and knocked over my Imac, causing a large crack in the glass and the screen. I'm not technically capable enough to do the install of the screen/glass myself, but I was wondering what I should expect a repair from an Apple certified technician to run.

Any advice or ballpark figures would be greatly appreciate to help assuage my nervous breakdown.

Thanks,
-Todd

Around 800-1000 bucks might be a decent estimate. I had the LCD replaced on my 24 inch iMac recently, and the receipt showed almost 900 bucks (if I didn't have AppleCare).

I feel your pain. In May of last year an apple techy quote a eye watering £950 +p&p for a screen replacement. I later spent half that on a big tv and mini dvi out cable.
