We need you! I have made a huge thread promoting the mac client for Star Wars: The Old Republic MMO, based off of Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR) I & II.
Head on over to this thread (http://swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=30754), register, respond and take the poll and make the devs hear us!

I also subscribe to a similar concept and using Successfully.

I'm confused why my previous post was deleted after showing support for the game.
I don't really know what to say, except I'd sign up if it was available.

You only have to register for forums, go to the link and vote. The poll is actually a census to record how many people want this client. With the right amount of people we can definitely get the devs attention.

Hey Iceman. I was looking for more forums to put our cause on, but you beat me to this one by a longshot.
I recommend changing the title to: "Star Wars: The Old Republic MMORPG for Macintosh - Help us get noticed!"

I searched for the major gaming and mac communities. I like your title a lot better than mine. Thanks mpen.

I would love a Mac client, and I voted so in the poll, but the only hope of getting one would be to contact Simutronics and ask them to team up with Transgaming to make a Cider wrapper for HeroEngine games.

I registered on their forum back when it was just opened and never visited since.
Now, I login and agree with their terms, but it just brings that terms and conditions page again and no matter how many times I agree it just won't let me see their forum...
Perhaps Safari 4 isn't correctly supported?
Edit: strange, I tried it on MacBook (with the same version of Safari) and it worked right away...

they should do a dual release of this game just like they did for The Sims 3... put both Mac & PC versions on the same DVD.
DO IT! DO IT!

Reply posted. Bring it on.
I've already told my co-workers that when this game hits, I'm taking the week off.
I did it for SWG, I'll do it for this.

I'll sign, but BioWare doesn't care about Mac right now. We are too few.
Maybe we can get a quick and dirty Cider port from EA. That would be good enough for me.

That's just a placeholder date. The game isn't even in beta yet. The closest thing to a release date that has been mentioned is 2010.

How can I get into the Beta Test?

That said, I am planning on building a gaming PC in the next few months for all the games scheduled for next year. Specifically StarCraft II, Diablo III, FF XIV, and SWTOR.

To hold you over though, if you haven't played Knights of the Old Republic go for it. If you have, try 2.

I just watched the walkthrough trailer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E7WHHQokRGs). Looks pretty awesome.

Sounds like a good idea. I might have to do that too. BootCamp is fairly annoying after awhile.

The linked thread over at SWTOR.com in the original post originated in 2009 and has since been closed. But it did have 100 pages worth or replies. I'd glady try a Mac client.
I have no idea how much extra work a Mac client would be. If forced to guess I doubt Bioware will take the time but who knows?

its all written extremely Microsoft specific... more idiot programmers got jobs.
EDIT:
its not just the programmers... some of them aren't idiots, its mainly management who are idiots.

I have my W7 partition ready to go for this game but if it was available on OSX I would much rather play it there, even if someone gets a port working that uses one of those wrappers it could be good as long as the game ran well enough at nice settings!

I believe the new resume features in lion will actually get me to use boot camp a lot more.

I guess I need to read about resume. What does it do in a nutshell regarding boot camp?
Thanks!

I wish this was Mac OS native too,
Cost of Collectors Edition of the game £129.99 (paid in full yesterday, early access code entered into SWTOR site)
Cost of Windows 7 now got to be added so i can install bootcamp
Hope this game looks good on a i5 27inch 2011 iMac with the 2gb 6970

Nothing, but being able to log out at any time and know you can "resume" from where you left off later is very helpful. Usually I wouldn't install updates until I finished with every web page I had open etc, now I just restart it and resume it again once installed.

Ahem...
BioWare is looking into the possibility of bringing Star Wars: The Old Republic to the Mac platform.
Speaking to Massively (http://massively.joystiq.com/2012/01/02/bioware-mac-version-of-star-wars-the-old-republic-is-something/), the firm's co-founder Greg Zeschuk explained that while it's not yet possible for Mac users to play the MMO the team is looking into it.
"We've done a lot of Mac ports before of our games. We haven't announced any details yet for The Old Republic, but we know that's an important and large audience," he stated.
"That's definitely one of the things we're looking at next. We want to get this launch under our belt and everything stabilised and happy, and then we'll look at other platforms, and that's obviously one of the first ones."
Zeschuk also hinted to Joystiq that users should expect iOS and Android developments in the future for Star Wars: The Old Republic.
"We did that iOS Mass Effect Galaxy thing really early. We said, 'We should just try this and see what happens.' And we learned something from it."
Star Wars: The Old Republic released December 20 in Europe and North America.

Besides that, I have a friend who is playing the game on his year-old MBP via Windows XP in Boot Camp. I'm not sure which settings he is playing on, but he gets anywhere from 20-35fps.
