problem with Apple-Q hot key quitting me out of programs

I am having trouble with pressing Apple-Q when trying to assign hotkeys during a game, is there a way to change the hot keys so that Apple-Q will not quit me out of the game. I checked the games preset hot keys and apple-Q is a preset but its not for quitting the program. Please help if you know how to change this in the computer settings thank you

Depends on which game...command-Q is fixed for just about every application that runs in a window, and some full screen games. And no, you cannot change this.

Why would you want command-Q as a shortcut anyway?
