How do I get on our wireless internet using my MacBook and our home's Linksys Router WRT110?

I have been searching forums for hours and tried several proposed solutions, none of which have worked.

Is there a solution to this problem?

Read User Guide.

The online (http://www.linksysbycisco.com/US/en/products/WRT110) system requirements claim that the Linksys router's setup wizard is compatible with Mac OS X 10.4 or higher. The actual box has the router's minimum requirements as Windows XP or Vista, with no mention of Mac. The Setup Wizard does not run on my Mac upon insertion of CD.

Do you know whether this router can work with a MacBook?

Yes, it will work. Routers are not dependent on the operating systems.

The only thing that may not work is the setup assistant, so you'll probably have to set it up manually.

Connect to it via an ethernet cable then enter 192.168.1.1 in your browser.

If your CD does not have the Mac setup install file you can download it here. (http://www.linksysbycisco.com/US/en/support/WRT110/download)

hmm . . . after working continuously for ~10 minutes -- a big improvement on the intermittent connection prior to the software dowload -- the wireless net suddenly went out.

any idea what the problem is?

Have you tried resetting the PRAM (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379?viewlocale=en_US) to see if that helps the connection issues you are having with Airport?
